The role will require frequent travel to the South East initially with a longer term base location at Seascale, Sellafield.
Role Purpose:
1. Oversee and maintain all quality procedures and records inline with the project requirements.
2. Supporting the Quality manager in delivery and compliant, right first time, high quality project that meets the needs defined by regulations and customer defined requirements.
Due to the nature of our projects, all candidates must hold full working rights for the UK, and also be eligible for Security Clearance.
What you'll be doing
As a Quality Engineer/Inspector, you will have the following accountabilities;
3. Ensuring the efficient implementation of all systems in accordance with the Business Management System (BMS), including document control, risk management, Control of Records and QA/QC procedures.
4. Produce relevant ITPs
5. Creation and maintenance of Quality plans
6. Manage the concurrent compilation of quality records
7. Progress and update quality schedule inline with delivery schedule
8. Ensure systems are in place, in conjunction with the Construction Manager as appropriate, which allow the required specification to be clearly agreed by the project team
9. Support the development Project Quality strategies and plans and the implementation of measurement frameworks across the scope of services and full project lifecycle
10. Support with external auditing governing bodies to maintain existing certification and continuous improvement
11. Provide quality improvement performance measures and recommendations, and share best practice
12. Provide a testing & inspection service for procured materials/equipment when necessary.
13. By using the principles of quality assurance, and where appropriate technical Integrity, ensure the customer requirements are clearly understood and that Quality Control mechanisms are in place that provide assurance that the asset and/or service delivers as designed/required
14. Produce project and/or business quality reports as required
15. Assist in training, coaching & developing quality skills in the Construction team.
16. Undertake specific investigations and/or report on quality related issues as required
17. Implementation of Short Interval Control including running of daily section review meeting and production of a weekly section report via BIM 360
18. Complete safety observation card; target 1 per week
Who we're looking for
Qualities and experience:
19. Professionally qualified
20. Experience in quality assurance within the mechanical nuclear industry
21. Ability to build strong relationships with delivery teams and project managers
22. Substantial practical experience in quality management in a relevant business environment
23. Experience of building a quality management framework & KPI measurement
24. Ability to gather, analyse and evaluate facts
25. Pays attention to detail and sees things through to completion
26. Can deliver reports orally and written in an objective and persuasive manner
27. Has good interpersonal and communication skills and acts in an independent and professional manner with the ability to influence others including senior management
28. Is a self-starter who manages their own time and seeks to add value to their function
29. Has an enquiring and questioning approach to audit work
30. Able to command respect across the business and work closely with the Business Efficiency
31. Can obtain the required security clearances

33. PCN LV2 Liquid penetrant inspection
34. PCN LV2 Magnetic particle inspection
