Location: Yorkshire region base with regular regional travel, 1-2 days in the office/site per week

We have an exciting opportunity for an Asset Technical Support Engineer (Mechanical) to join the Asset Delivery team at Yorkshire Water, helping us provide excellent service to our customers.
About Yorkshire Water: We ensure over a million residents and visitors in Yorkshire have access to clean, safe drinking water and proper wastewater management, while also protecting the environment and supporting community wellbeing.
Role overview: The Asset Technical Support Engineer will develop solutions for asset incidents, optimize asset reliability, and support operational teams with engineering advice. They will analyze asset failures, report findings, and collaborate with other teams to improve asset resilience and cost-effectiveness.
Key responsibilities:
* Support recovery from asset failures, ensuring compliance with procedures and regulations.
* Identify opportunities for asset improvements in safety, compliance, environmental protection, and performance.
* Provide engineering support and develop strategies, standards, and procedures.
* Analyze asset health using techniques like root cause analysis and FMEA.
* Participate in safety and reliability studies such as HazOp, ALM, FMECA, RVCA.
* Manage onsite works, including minor projects and innovative technology proofs.
* Mentor team members and support knowledge transfer.
Essential skills & qualifications:
* HNC or equivalent engineering qualification (preferably HND or degree).
* Experience in water/waste/sludge treatment or related engineering operations.
* Ability to produce technical reports, standards, and specifications.
* Experience in root cause analysis and management of change procedures.
* Knowledge of technical investigations, risk assessments, and engineering drawings.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across teams.
* Proficiency with SAP or similar IT systems.
* Valid driving license with no more than 6 points.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of Control of Work policies, asset management, CDM Regulations.
* Membership or progress towards membership of a recognized engineering institution.
