The Client
Our client supplies bespoke joinery to the commercial, leisure, healthcare, education, and fit-out sectors. They design, manufacture, and install internal bespoke joinery and acoustic panelling, as well as a range of fire-rated and specialist doorsets.
The Role
The main responsibility is to convert designers' or architects' design intent drawings (or sketches) into detailed technical drawings for joinery manufacture.
You will be required to perform technical design work using AutoCAD software, ensuring all drawings are fully detailed and laid out on paperspace for client review.
Responsibilities
1. Update templates, blocks, and layout libraries during downtime.
2. Handover production-ready drawings to the operations manager, discussing design details and material specifications.
3. Convert signed-off CAD drawings into production drawings, and into DXF files for CNC manufacturing if necessary.
4. Upload project drawings to online portals (e.g., 4P, Aconox, iGo) for record-keeping. Issue signed-off drawings as Construction Issue.
5. Seek client sign-off for completed drawings and document revisions with revision numbers and change details.
6. Meet project deadlines; inform the project manager promptly if deadlines cannot be met.
7. List and issue any RFIs or correspondence necessary for CAD drawing facilitation, noting required response dates.
8. Assist with sourcing accurate site surveys, which should be dated and stored appropriately.
9. Store all AutoCAD drawings in relevant folders with proper project-specific drawing numbers.
About You
* Experience in joinery or cabinetry is essential for this role.
