We are seeking a commercially astute and analytically strong Purchasing Finance Manager to join our high-performing finance team based in Uxbridge. This is a key role within a blue-chip, international business, partnering closely with Procurement, Supply Chain, and Operational leaders to drive cost optimisation, governance, and strategic value creation.
You will act as the financial lead across purchasing activity, providing insight, control and challenge to ensure robust cost management, strong supplier governance and alignment with wider business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnering & Commercial Support
* Partner with the Procurement and Supply Chain leadership teams to support sourcing strategies and supplier negotiations.
* Provide financial insight and challenge on supplier selection, contract renewals and cost-saving initiatives.
* Support make vs. buy decisions and total cost of ownership analysis.
* Lead budgeting and forecasting for purchasing-related spend.
* Deliver detailed variance analysis and performance reporting to senior stakeholders.
* Identify risks and opportunities within supplier spend and operational costs.
Cost Control & Governance
* Oversee purchase price variance (PPV) reporting and analysis.
* Monitor compliance with procurement policies and delegated authority frameworks.
* Support internal and external audit requirements relating to procurement activity.
Performance & Reporting
* Develop and enhance dashboards and reporting tools to provide clear visibility of spend, savings and supplier performance.
* Drive automation and continuous improvement within purchasing finance processes.
* Present insights and recommendations to senior finance and operational leadership.
Team & Stakeholder Management
* Work cross-functionally with Finance, Procurement, Operations and Shared Services teams.
* Influence decision-making through data-led insight rather than hierarchy.
* Support and mentor junior finance team members where appropriate.
About You
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong commercial acumen and experience partnering with Procurement or Supply Chain teams within a large, complex organisation.
* Proven experience in a Finance Business Partnering or Commercial Finance role.
* Strong understanding of purchasing processes, supplier contracts and cost drivers.
* Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle or similar).
* Experience delivering budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
* Confident communicator, comfortable influencing senior stakeholders.
* Experience within FMCG, manufacturing, retail or other high-volume purchasing environments.
* Exposure to transformation or system implementation projects.
* Power BI or other data visualisation capability.
