Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Forecourt Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling transactions accurately, and maintaining a welcoming environment at our petrol station. This role offers an opportunity to develop organisational and communication skills within a fast-paced retail setting.
Responsibilities
* Greet customers courteously and provide prompt service at the forecourt
* Handle cash, card payments, and other transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
* Assist customers with purchases of merchandise and promote upselling opportunities where appropriate
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cashier area and surrounding environment
* Manage stock levels of retail items, restocking shelves as needed
* Provide information about products and services offered at the station
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
* Address customer queries professionally via face-to-face interaction
* Support merchandising efforts by arranging displays attractively
Qualifications
* Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
* Excellent communication skills with a friendly phone etiquette
* Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
* Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment
* Good time management to ensure prompt service during peak hours
* Previous experience in retail or cashier roles is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
* Demonstrated ability to upsell products and enhance customer experience
