Forest school/ Outdoor learning Teaching Assistant – Fareham Pay: £85-95 per day Contract: Short term – September 1 st 2026 – potentially long-term for the right candidate Learning Support Assistant Role for SEMH children This is a warm and nurturing Junior school in the suburbs of Fareham that has excellent outdoor grounds and uses these to facilitate learning for those with SEMH needs. The school is keen to appoint those who understand that nature, outdoor experiences, communication and team building are at the heart of inclusion learning. About the Role: Working in small groups and sometimes 1:1 Have knowledge of Trauma informed practice Be patient, empathetic but be able to give clear and consistent boundaries Experience of working with children Have experience of working outdoors and forest school training would be advantageous Be happy working with children from Year R to Year 6 Duties include: Helping with pupils learning and development Supervising pupils in the playground, dining hall, cloakrooms and in class Keeping records of each pupil’s progress against EHCP targets Assisting with their health and hygiene Helping students develop life skills and mentoring them to have a positive outlook Be able to adapt resources to meet children’s individual needs Supply Desk is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all of the staff we employ to share this commitment.
