Description
The responsibilities for the Head of Legal - Employment include:
1. Advising the business, including members of the Executive Committee and senior leaders, on employment legal matters.
2. Partnering with the People Function to provide strategic solutions to employment issues, supporting the company's strategy, purpose, and values.
3. Developing legally sound policies in all areas of employment law.
4. Managing employment law matters across the Group, including UK, Germany, and Ireland.
5. Reviewing employee Handbooks, contracts, and legal documents regularly.
6. Advising on legislation, guidance, and case law, including ESG reporting and Pay Transparency.
7. Providing practical legal advice on contentious employment issues, risk assessments, and legal strategies.
8. Managing the employment legal risk register and ensuring appropriate actions.
9. Monitoring employment law trends and changes to ensure proactive compliance.
10. Supporting strategic projects by assessing legal implications and advising on risk mitigation.
11. Advising on immigration issues, sponsorship, and compliance.
12. Providing guidance on employment benefits, pensions, and reward schemes.
13. Ensuring compliance with human rights and modern slavery regulations.
14. Representing the company in external consultations and liaising with external bodies.
Profile
Ideal candidates will have:
* Qualified Solicitor in the UK or relevant jurisdiction.
* Experience in a reputable law firm or multinational corporate environment, with preference for in-house experience.
* Expertise in advising HR and senior managers on complex employment matters.
