We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible individual to join NHS Dumfries and Galloway’s Acute & Diagnostic Administration Team as a Clerical Officer within the Emergency Department and Acute Medical Unit.
This is a fixed‑term contract until 07/02/2027. You will work covering a variety of shifts, including day, evening, weekend, and night shifts. This will be a rolling 4‑week rota, so a flexible approach to hours and shift patterns is essential.
About the Role
As a Clerical Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Emergency Department and Clinical Assessment Unit by:
* Providing clerical and administrative support across both departments.
* Receiving and registering patients promptly and accurately.
* Working closely with medical and nursing teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
You will be supported by colleagues, the Team Leader, Administration Services Coordinator, and Administration Services Manager.

Additional Information
* This post requires full PVG clearance.
* A&E Reception operates 7 days per week, so flexibility is essential for day/night shifts.
* Comprehensive on‑the‑job training and ongoing support will be provided as part of the role.
