Your new company
One of our clients is seeking an experienced SEND Tribunals Officer to provide interim support for a period of 3 months. Due to a significant increase in workloads and the volume of active SENDIST tribunal cases, they require an experienced professional who can take the lead in managing a busy caseload, ensuring statutory deadlines, legal requirements, and service standards are consistently met.You will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high‑quality SEND services for children, young people, and adults with special educational needs and/or disabilities. This is an excellent opportunity for an SEND professional with strong tribunal, mediation, and case management experience who can quickly step into a complex and fast‑paced environment.

Your new role
You will lead on managing an active caseload of SENDIST tribunal appeals, ensuring all documentation, evidence bundles, and responses are prepared to a high standard and submitted within statutory timeframes. The role involves coordinating and participating in mediation, dispute‑resolution processes, and pre‑hearing activity while maintaining full compliance with SEND legislation. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across SEND, Education, Health, Social Care, and partner agencies to secure the best possible outcomes for children, young people, and adults. A key part of the role includes contributing to the delivery, monitoring, and ongoing improvement of SEND services by using data, feedback, and performance insights to drive service quality. You will support and embed co‑production practices, engaging parents, carers, and service users to assess service effectiveness and strengthen dispute‑resolution processes. Additionally, you will develop and deliver training, guidance, and briefings for staff, partners, and parents/carers, while ensuring safeguarding responsibilities are fully understood and consistently applied throughout all casework.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need significant experience in tribunal management and mediation within SEND services, along with a proven track record of contributing to high‑quality SEND provision for children, young people, or adults with disabilities. You should have experience working collaboratively across multiple services and partner agencies to support positive outcomes, as well as evidence of involvement in service monitoring, audits, inspections, and implementing improvements.You will also need experience of co‑production and the ability to meaningfully engage service users to strengthen and improve SEND processes. A strong understanding of safeguarding within both children's and adults' services is essential. In addition, you should have experience designing and delivering training, guidance, and briefings to a wide range of staff, partners, and parents or carers, and be confident using performance data and feedback to inform service development.A substantial professional knowledge of the SEND agenda in education is required, alongside specific experience in mediation and SEND tribunal case management.Please note that this role requires an Enhanced DBS, and candidates must have access to a vehicle with Business Use Car Insurance.
