The Role: Mechanical Process Engineer Hours of Work: 08:15 – 17:00 Monday to Friday, with one early finish (13:00) – early finish day tbc The Role/Key Responsibilities: As a Mechanical Process Engineer you will be responsible for the mechanical maintenance of all machines, ensuring efficient operations of cycle, weight, and quality of products. You will optimise mechanical processes and systems to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness across manufacturing operations. Key responsibilities include: Maintenance and rectification of engineering faults to maximise availability of machines and keep them in good working condition Analyse existing mechanical processes and identify areas for improvement, looking to optimise throughput and reduce waste Develop automation programmes, implement new automated products, and carry out routine maintenance of robots, tool attachments, and systems Collaborate with multi-functional teams to integrate new processes and technologies into production systems Assist the tool change fitters with achieving tool change target times, and ensuring all tools and ancillary equipment are ready for operation Set up machines when tool changes are complete To be successful in this role, you will likely have: HNC Qualified with a minimum of 3 years post-apprenticeship experience Excellent fault-finding skills Ability to multi-task and prioritise based on operational needs Experience in a manufacturing environment (ideally with plastic processing knowledge) Experience of automation technologies would be beneficial KPI’s/Success within the first year: Increase the production efficiency and up-time of machines Monitor machine downtime trends and resolve recurring issues Contribute to the reduction in process waste Make and implement recommendations for process improvements Benefits: Salary up to £48,000 per annum dependant on experience Option to join the Private healthcare scheme Full Christmas and New Year shut down Free on-site car park Canteen facilities, including hot drinks Employee Assistance Programme (Wellbeing platform) Company Wellbeing & Events programme (such as summer BBQ’s, free annual health checks, pie days and much more) Career growth; Learning & Development opportunities The document is a guide only and should not be regarded as exclusive or exhaustive.
