Join our Spartan Spirit Shop marketing team! In this role, you will support the Spartan Spirit Shop E‑commerce Manager and the Auxiliary Sports Group Digital Strategist by assisting with social media strategy, content creation, and digital marketing for both brick‑and‑mortar retail and the online store. This position is ideal for a creative college student who is passionate about social media, marketing, retail, and Michigan State University.
Typical Duties And Responsibilities
* Develop and execute retail‑focused social media initiatives aligned with brand guidelines.
* Assist in planning, creating, and scheduling social media campaigns for Spartan Spirit Shops.
* Collaborate with the E‑commerce Manager to capture product photos and videos for the website’s online store and digital platforms.
* Coordinate and recruit student models for lifestyle and product photoshoots.
* Assist with on‑site content creation at campus retail locations, pop‑up shops, and special events.
* Edit images and short‑form videos for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
* Monitor comments, messages, and engagement trends across official social media platforms.
* Track performance metrics and provide weekly insights to the Digital Strategist.
* Support website updates by uploading product images, writing product descriptions, and tagging products for online store organization.
* Assist with maintaining consistent visual branding across all marketing channels.
* Provide additional marketing and/or operational support as needed.
Pay rate: $13.73/hr.
Work Location: Spartan Spirit Shop locations (MSU Union, 1855 Place, MSU Tennis Center, Forest Akers East and West); Warehouse (166 Service Rd).
Required Qualifications
* Be enrolled as a student at Michigan State University (during the academic year).
* Strong understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook).
* Basic photography and/or videography skills.
* Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.
* Strong written communication and creativity.
* Interest in marketing, retail, or digital media.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools.
* Prior social media content creation experience (academic, professional, or personal branding).
* Familiarity with e‑commerce or retail environments.
Physical Demands & Work Hours
10‑15 hours throughout the week and weekends.
