Salary: £27,254 - £29,540 (Grade 4)
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 11:00 - 19:00
Contract type: 12 month Fixed Term Contract

If so, this could be the job for you. We are looking for a dog warden to join our experienced team.
You must have the ability to work independently and have the confidence in using your own judgement and initiative whilst also working effectively as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
You will be expected to work remotely, across Worcestershire and other local authority areas and from our modern Offices at Wyre Forest House, Kidderminster, DY11 7WF.
Main Purpose and scope of the post:
To provide dog warden services specifically including the seizure of stray dogs, enforcement of other dog related legislation encompassing animal welfare, dog control orders including dog fouling, dog breeding and licensing and the promotion of responsible dog ownership.
Specific Post Responsibilities:
* To carry out patrols identifying stray dogs in public places and to collect such dogs in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
* To assist with dangerous dogs.
* To carry out inspections (with appropriate qualification) at businesses licensed by the service for activities involving animals e.g. pet shops, boarding establishments, etc.
* To obtain evidence, provide witness statements and attend court in connection with any dog related matter.
* To give evidence in court when required.
* To liaise with other agencies and partners e.g. police, RSPCA, veterinary practitioners, kennelling/ rehoming facilities etc.
* To maintain the Stray Dogs register
* To ensure that proper records are maintained for all work undertaken.
* To comply with procedures aimed at operating and maintaining the service's quality assurance system.
* To provide basic training to students' and other staff from time to time.
