What you'll do:
1. Support at night: Help with activities including personal care, ensuring the comfort, wellbeing and safety of our residents at night.
2. Provide person-centred care: Tailor your care planning to meet the unique needs of each resident.
3. Promote independence: Encourage residents to make personal care choices and support their self-care and independence.
4. Build relationships: Establish supportive connections with residents, their families, and colleagues.
5. Experience working in social care: Not essential to join as a Care Assistant — suitable for school or college leavers, career changers, or those returning to work. The right values, skills, and motivation are most important.
6. Passion and dedication: A genuine desire to help others and make a positive difference.
7. Empathy and compassion: Share and understand residents' feelings to build trust and provide emotional support.
8. Respect and patience: Treat residents with dignity and adapt to their individual needs.
9. Attentiveness: Monitor mental and physical health closely and respond quickly to verbal and non-verbal cues.
10. Communication skills: Communicate clearly and effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
11. Problem-solving skills: Handle unexpected situations calmly and effectively.
