The Role
The successful candidate will plan and deliver stimulating DT lessons, inspire creativity, and encourage problem-solving and practical skills. Key responsibilities include:
* Planning and delivering high-quality DT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, and where applicable, Key Stage 5.
* Supporting students in practical projects, ensuring safe and effective use of tools and equipment.
* Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback and reports.
* Contributing to curriculum development and lesson resource planning.
* Encouraging innovation, creativity, and real-world applications of design skills.
* Supporting departmental projects, exhibitions, and school events.
Candidate Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with strong subject knowledge in Design & Technology.
* Practical experience with tools, machinery, and materials used in DT lessons.
* Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
* Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.
* Commitment to health and safety in practical lessons.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
