We are looking to recruit a trainee Health and Safety officer who will able to offer comprehensive health and safety guidance and training to our operatives on site. This role entails overseeing the organization, delivery, and facilitation of inductions, refresher training, and toolbox talks, ensuring their effectiveness and adherence to safety protocols.

OBJECTIVES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Conduct comprehensive induction sessions for new personnel to ensure their understanding of Oregon's safety standards, procedures, and potential risks.
* Coordinate training programs from initiation to full competency, maintaining detailed records of employee training progress.
* Manage and update Employee Training passports and training matrices to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulations.
* Perform face fit testing for all new hires to ensure proper respiratory protection.
* Offer Health and Safety advice and guidance to all staff members as needed.
* Attend Health and Safety meetings, providing relevant data regarding training and competency levels.
* Facilitate training sessions and toolbox talks, ensuring all participants comprehend the expected standards.
* Document incidents and complete accident investigation reports under the guidance of the Head of Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE).
* Compile and review Risk Assessment (RA) and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) assessments for the factory.
* Assist the Factory Manager with various administrative tasks, documentation, and training projects as required.
* Ensure all first aid boxes and safety signage are up to date and accurate.
* Foster a positive Health and Safety culture throughout Oregon, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in existing training programs.
