Your role at Digital Catapult will be to direct the delivery of one or more major (£10m+) projects and programmes to drive exceptional impact for the UK through the purposeful adoption of deep tech. Your initial assignment will be to oversee the UK Digital Twin Centre, accelerating digital twin adoption to enhance global competitiveness for UK businesses.
Reporting to the COO, the Project Director will bring extensive delivery expertise, industry experience, a calm, collaborative, confident approach, and strong leadership skills. Responsibilities include directing the delivery team from our Centres of Excellence, building productive relationships with the Programme Manager, managing stakeholder relationships, translating impact objectives into actionable plans, and seeking pathways to sustainability and growth.
What You'll Do (Duties)
1. Define and document success measures for the project.
2. Develop, implement, and execute the overall project delivery strategy to meet business goals.
3. Set milestones, financial plans, and impact tracking metrics; ensure successful delivery.
4. Lead, direct, and mentor the project team.
5. Identify and secure opportunities to expand scope and duration for additional impact, revenue, and sustainability, including risk management.
6. Serve as the primary project contact, internally and externally; build strong stakeholder relationships.
Requirements
* Experience delivering large-scale technology projects in industrial settings; experience in marine, aerospace, defence sectors, and with digital twin technologies is advantageous.
* Proficiency in managing stakeholder relationships and influencing decisions for mutual benefit.
* Collaborative, inspiring leadership capable of fostering a high-performing team culture.
* Strong financial skills and experience managing large budgets, both grant and commercial.
* Knowledge of project governance and risk management.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Motivated by deep tech applications and UK impact.
* Recognized project and programme management qualification is desirable.
