Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Construction Health & Safety professional to join our team in Glasgow or Edinburgh. The role requires a self‑motivated, client‑focused individual capable of working independently, with a proven track record of delivering excellence.
Project work
* Perform duties expected of a competent health and safety professional, ensuring best practice is employed at all times.
* Administer project work in line with T&A policies, practices and procedures.
* Represent T&A in the marketplace and participate in business development activities as required.
* Act on behalf of T&A in a polite, professional manner, upholding company values.
* Ensure adequate and timely communication channels to support effective service delivery.
* Co‑ordinate and prepare information to support the client, seeking and listening to their requirements and acting accordingly.
* Provide robust, pragmatic health and safety guidance to clients and design teams to achieve project deliverables.
* Ensure others meet their obligations under their appointments and applicable health and safety legislation.
General duties
* Oversee, review and approve the work of junior staff in a positive, constructive manner as required for project delivery.
* Represent T&A competently and positively, ensuring service quality and integrity at the highest standards.
* Report to the client and other stakeholders in line with client requirements and company standards.
Delivering great client experience
* Represent T&A at project meetings with clients, designers and contractors to provide advice on all aspects of project assignments and follow up on actions.
* Communicate clearly, concisely and coherently with clients and other consultants regarding information required to perform services.
* Identify risks and issues with ongoing activities, assist in mitigating measures, record discussions and remedial actions.
In all activities, act in a manner that reflects T&A’s cultural values of confidence, honesty, responsibility and support.

Qualifications
* Demonstrate relevant experience in a consultancy environment as Principal Designer, Client Adviser, Adviser to Principal Designer or general Health & Safety adviser.
* Hold relevant qualifications or professional membership; APS membership is highly desirable.
* Show awareness of fire risk and asbestos risk management.
* Know current health & safety legislation and be capable of undertaking audits.
* Display a range of core health and safety skills reflected in successful project delivery across various industry sectors.
* Understand traditional and modern procurement routes and construction contract suites.
* Have a good understanding of modern construction methods.
* Show involvement with several clients and established good working relationships.
* Demonstrate suitable knowledge of design principles.
