We are looking for a Content Editor to join our newsdesk at MyLondon. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented senior reporter or news editor to take up a senior role directing a creative team of reporters.
We are looking for someone to spearhead content for the MyLondon website, app and social media platforms. Working alongside other editors and reporters, this role will oversee and coordinate a team of journalists to manage the delivery of accurate, legally-sound content, including video, reflecting brand values and achieving audience targets.

About us
Hello, we’re Reach. Every day, our trusted news, stories and content connect with millions of people where they live - whether that’s on their social feed or at their neighbourhood newsstand; through their local community or their take on the hot topic of the day.
We're home to more than 120 trusted brands - from household names like the Mirror, Express, Daily Star and Daily Record, to local titles like MyLondon, BelfastLive, and the Manchester Evening News, and brands making a splash in the US like the Irish Star.
It's our ability to understand people and the things that matter to them that makes us the UK and Ireland's largest commercial news publisher. We reach 70% of the UK's online population and speak to over 100 million social followers around the world. And we’re just getting started…
Your story, with Reach
As a modern media organisation, we're much more than just news. And it takes a wide range of people and skills to serve diverse audiences, customers and communities like we do.
We know everyone has their own story to tell, so we’ve built an environment where every background is respected and every day is a day to explore.
We’ll help you build a career that works with your life, while giving you the space to create and grow.
What will the role involve?
You will organise and manage the publishing of fresh, engaging and accurate content for MyLondon. You will brief your team of reporters to deliver great content - including words, pictures, video, data and interactives - to ensure we get the highest possible levels of audience engagement. You’ll play a key part in launching live blogs for big stories, and maintain momentum as audiences flock to our sites.
You will ensure the website and social media channels have compelling content in line with our audience data and trends. You will work to grow our loyal audience, focusing on newsletters and other engaging content, ensuring we maximise every opportunity in this area. You will support and guide your team daily, weekly and monthly, from 1:1s and team briefings to career development and promotions. This role will involve working shifts on a rota basis, including some evenings and weekends so a flexible approach is required.
Who are we looking for?
You are an experienced NCTJ or equivalent senior qualified journalist with exceptional media law knowledge. You have a strong track record of telling stories accurately, that engage large audiences with a real passion for digital storytelling. You have a sharp news sense, excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
You have the skills to be a supportive people manager, and the ability to guide and encourage your team to get the best out of them. You are social media savvy with an excellent understanding of SEO, search, social and digital audience behaviour. You can create and edit accurate copy at pace, meeting deadlines with ease.
