Department summary
Our department provides an Orthoptic service across Worcestershire for both paediatric and adult patients covering a wide range of conditions. We also provide the school vision screening service for the county.
Main duties of the job
Depending on experience, you will be involved in general Orthoptic, optometry, paediatric ophthalmology and ocular motility clinics. You will work independently with close support available and have the opportunity to train Orthoptic students and other health professionals. The trust offers a preceptorship programme for allied health professionals and promotes CPD with dedicated time for administrative duties.
Newly qualified orthoptists or final year students awaiting final qualification are welcome to apply.
DBS checks and costs
Any applicant offered a post requiring a DBS check will have the cost of this check deducted from their salary.

Qualifications
* Degree or Diploma in Orthoptics
* Registration with HCPC
* Post‑Graduate Experience
* Teaching qualification
* Evidence of CPD
Experience
* Post suitable for Experienced or Newly Qualified Orthoptist
* Wide range of Orthoptic experience as qualified Orthoptist or during undergraduate clinical placements
* Experience in Goldmann visual field testing
* Experience in carrying out biometries for cataract patients
* Experience in post‑graduate Orthoptics
* Experience in school vision screening
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
* Good organisational skills
* Empathy
* Good IT skills
Other
* DBS clearance
* Driving licence and access to own vehicle
