Who we’re looking for
* Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or equivalent level of experience
* NQ–5 PQE
* Experience advising on health and welfare proceedings in the Court of Protection
* Familiarity with the Mental Capacity Act 2005
* Previous experience working under a legal aid contract
* Strong IT and case management system skills
What you’ll be doing
* Advising and representing clients in Court of Protection health and welfare proceedings
* Visiting clients in care settings and delivering clear, empathetic legal advice
* Drafting court applications and managing files with ongoing risk assessment
* Attending and representing at hearings
* Ensuring cases meet Legal Aid Agency and Law Society standards
* Managing files efficiently to meet WIP and billing targets
* Delegating to and supervising junior team members
* Supporting business development and marketing of the department’s work
