Technical Site Manager Job Description
The successful candidate will be the project managers & engineers' eyes and ears onsite regarding all the quality, technical and commissioning aspects of the construction, across multiple sites simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
* Construction Supervision in collaboration with the construction site manager.
* Resource Management, including material deliveries and equipment availability.
* Inspect completed work, identify defects, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
* Liaise with other quality inspectors or engineers for compliance with project specifications.
* Monitor progress and scheduling, ensuring projects are delivered on time.
* Act as the primary point of contact on-site.
* Communicate site progress, issues, and changes to the project manager/engineering team.
* Ensure that all work complies with local building codes, regulations, and contractual obligations.
The role requires a strong understanding of renewable energy systems and their grid integration, specifically solar PV systems and BESS technology. The successful candidate should have experience working with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
Requirements:
* Educational Background: A degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or civil) or proven experience.
* Certifications: health & safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, SMSTS) are highly valued.
* Other valuable certifications include SAP-33KV, 18th Edition, Test Engineer, Jointer certification.
* Proven track record in commissioning & managing energy projects, particularly solar PV and BESS installations.
* Site and contractor management, whilst demonstrating ability to deliver projects on time, up to the desired level of quality, within budget.
* Stakeholder Coordination: Experience working with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies (DNO's, IDNO's etc.).
* Leadership, problem solving and communication skills.
