We are looking for a enthusiastic and progressive Pharmacy Technician, or soon to be Pharmacy Technician, to join our department.

We have a strong focus on the development of Pharmacy Technicians, and support our team to reach their full potential. We support staff to access leadership programmes, such as the CPPE Leading for Change and NHS Leadership Academy programme, and other Pharmacy Technician development such as the BTEC level 4 diploma in clinical pharmacy services.
Dependant on experience, we offer a comprehensive training package to support applications from newly qualified pharmacy technicians, to support development over an 18 month period to a band 5 role.
We operate extended opening hours (9am - 8:30pm weekdays) and the successful applicant will be required to participate in a shift system to cover evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. The successful applicant will also be expected to work across all trust sites.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role will be accuracy checking of dispensed medicines and day to day supervision of a team in our automated dispensaries, aseptic supervision and ward based medicine optimisation duties.
The post holder will undertake Audit and quality improvement work
The post holder will provide mentoring for other Pharmacy Technicians, PTPT's and Pharmacy assistants
The post holder will support training and education in the department
The post holder will participate in the provision of a Trust wide Pharmacy Service which operates to the highest standards and not only meets, but exceeds customer expectations
Professional Duties:
To ensure that appropriate professional standards and local policies and procedures are complied with.
To assist in the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures.
Participates in the development and maintenance of a high
quality pharmacy service to the Trust and its external customers.
To undertake personal development and continuing education and training as necessary to ensure a high level of competency in carrying out the functions of this post and maintaining registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
