Iconic Resourcing are proud to be exclusively partnering with Union Technical as they enter an exciting new phase of growth. A trusted name in the energy efficiency industry for over 10 years, Union Technical are known for delivering exceptional service, strong client relationships, and a genuine commitment to sustainability. With the UK’s energy and construction sectors evolving at pace, Union Technical is at the forefront of change - and now looking to appoint an Operations Manager to play a key role in that journey.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced, commercially aware, and hands-on leader to shape the future of operational delivery at a dynamic and growing business. Reporting into senior leadership and working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll bring oversight, structure, and strategic input to the installation of energy efficiency measures across a variety of contracts and clients.
The Role
This newly created role has been shaped by business need, client feedback, and a desire to streamline delivery across a wide range of energy efficiency projects. You will:
* Lead the day-to-day operations of project delivery, covering a full range of retrofit and energy efficiency measures
* Manage and coordinate multiple trades across several live contracts, ensuring installations run smoothly and on schedule
* Be office-based but regularly out on sites, addressing issues and ensuring consistent quality and compliance
* Work closely with four business leads to drive performance, manage commercial risks, and implement improvements
* Oversee subcontractor and internal team management - from installers to administrators
* Bring structure and clarity to operational processes, with the autonomy to shape your team as needed
* Problem solve daily - investigating issues, then thinking strategically about how to reduce repetition and improve delivery at scale
About You
We’re seeking a driven and adaptable leader - someone with a strong construction background who is also ready to grow with the business and bring others along with them.
You’ll need:
* Experience in project management and multi-trade coordination across construction or energy sectors
* A track record of managing teams across field and office-based functions
* Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, with confidence embedding compliance into daily practice
* Commercial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities
* Exposure to energy efficiency measures (such as insulation types, heating systems, or renewables) would be advantageous but is not essential - full training will be provided.
* Confidence, humility, and ambition - someone who quietly builds credibility and leads by example
* A passion for continuous improvement, process development
Union Technical is a vibrant, ambitious, and youthful team - and they’re keen to find someone who fits culturally as well as professionally. You'll be surrounded by talented colleagues and high standards. You’ll also be joining a business that promotes from within, with plenty of room to grow.
