Overview
Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our team in Liskeard, Cornwall. Various hours are available. This role requires you to be a driver. As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.
Responsibilities
* Support individuals with daily activities and provide emotional and practical support as part of their care plan.
* Build trusting relationships through excellent communication and genuine empathy.
* Collaborate with the team to ensure consistent, person-centered care.
* Contribute to a safe and supportive environment for people with learning disabilities.
All our services are 24-hour care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can plan your personal and social life. Shifts include days between 07:00 and 22:00.
What we’re looking for
* A genuine passion for supporting others.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
* This role requires you to be a driver.
Contract options
* Full-time: 37.5 hrs
* Part-time: flexible hours based on availability

All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
