Job Overview:
As an Edge AI Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and deploying AI models that run on edge devices. You will work on optimizing machine learning models for performance and efficiency, ensuring they can operate in real-time on devices with limited resources. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI and machine learning, with specific experience in deploying and optimizing models for edge computing environments.
What will be your responsibilities:
* Model Development: Design and develop machine learning models specifically tailored for edge devices, considering constraints such as limited computation power, memory and energy consumption.
* Optimization: Optimize AI models for performance and efficiency to ensure they run effectively on edge devices. Techniques may include quantization, pruning and other model compression methods.
* Deployment: Deploy AI models on various edge devices, such as IoT devices, SoCs, embedded systems and other low-power hardware platforms.
* Data Processing: Implement and optimize data preprocessing pipelines to ensure efficient data handling and processing on edge devices.
* Integration: Work closely with software engineers to integrate AI models into edge applications, ensuring seamless functionality and performance.
* Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate the performance of deployed models in real-world scenarios, making adjustments as necessary to maintain optimal performance.
* Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, hardware engineers and product managers, to define requirements and deliver solutions that meet business and technical needs.
* Research and Innovation: Stay current with the latest advancements in edge AI and machine learning technologies and apply new techniques to enhance existing models and solutions.
* Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of models, algorithms, optimization processes and deployment workflows for future reference and reproducibility.
Profile and requirements:
* Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
* Experience: 3+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, or a related field, with specific experience in deploying and optimizing models for edge computing environments.
* Technical Skills:
o Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, as well as C / C++, Java, Rust or similar languages.
o Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow Lite, PyTorch Mobile, or ONNX.
o Knowledge of model optimization techniques, including quantization, pruning and knowledge distillation.
o Familiarity with edge computing platforms and hardware accelerators (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, Google Coral, ARM Cortex), with focus on NVIDIA Jetson Orin.
o Experience with data preprocessing and pipeline optimization for edge deployment.
o Familiarity with robotics software frameworks such as ROS (Robot Operating System).
o Understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded systems.
o Knowledge of software development best practices and tooling, including DevOps, version control (e.g., Git), continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), telemetry and monitoring.
o Experience with relevant tooling such as ClearML for ML lifecycle management.
o Experience in getting machine learning products to production.
