You’ll be key to that, working closely with the Head of Estates and Facilities, shaping a culture of in-house excellence and ensuring that what can be done internally, is done well.

What you’ll do
You’ll lead 8 maintenance staff and collaborate with 4 caretakers to deliver high-quality, compliant maintenance across the school. That includes both planned and reactive work, supporting with hands-on tasks and ensuring nothing slips through the gaps.
You’ll manage compliance checks (fire safety, asbestos, legionella), contribute to fire alarm testing and risk assessments, and bring in external contractors when truly needed. One weekend every four, you’ll be on-call, but it’s shared fairly and well supported.
What you’ll bring
* Solid hands-on maintenance experience
* Confidence to lead and support others
* Knowledge of compliance standards and safety regs
* A practical mindset, and willingness to muck in
* IOSH or NEBOSH ideally
* Fire alarm testing experience is a bonus
