Job Title: SENDCo (with potential for leadership responsibilities)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract Type: Full Time
Contract Term: Permanent
Start Date: September 2025 (or negotiable)
About the Role
We are seeking to appoint a visionary and experienced SENDCo to lead and coordinate inclusive practice across a specialist setting for students aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and associated learning differences.
This is a strategic role that may include wider leadership responsibilities, depending on the candidate’s experience and aspirations. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure high-quality, personalised provision for every student.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of inclusive, trauma-informed teaching and learning strategies.
* Act as the designated SENDCo, overseeing all SEND processes including EHCP reviews, interventions, and statutory compliance.
* Support and coach teaching staff to improve classroom practice and outcomes for students with complex needs.
* Champion inclusive pedagogy and differentiation across the curriculum.
* Contribute to whole-school development and strategic planning.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Is a qualified teacher with substantial experience in SEN/SEMH/ASC settings.
* Holds (or is working towards) the NASENCO qualification.
* Has a proven track record of improving teaching and learning and leading effective SEND provision.
* Is reflective, forward-thinking, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.
