JOB TITLE: Buyer
SALARY: £45,000 per annum
WORKING ARRANGEMENTS: Flexible working onsite
ROLE PURPOSE
To source production materials, consumables, and services at the most advantageous commercial terms, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery requirements are consistently achieved.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Procurement & Sourcing
Source and procure production items in line with commodity ownership
Source consumables required by the business
Purchase packaging requirements for production operations
Secure contract services (e.g. oils, cleaning) at best value
Supplier Management
Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers
Identify and develop alternative supply sources
Resolve supplier issues effectively and promptly
Manage supplier-related changes to components
2.3 Commercial & Operational Support
Support departmental budgets and cost-saving initiatives
Prepare and manage enquiries for new business opportunities
Participate in technical and engineering meetings as required
Support Supplier Quality activities
Ensure ethical and legal compliance in all purchasing activities
Systems & Compliance
Maintain purchasing data within the ERP system
Manage submission of PPAP samples
Ensure compliance with all company standards and procedures (e.g. IATF16949, ISO14001)
Strategic Support
Support strategic sourcing initiatives
Assist with implementation and management of long-term supplier agreements
