Autism Support Assistant - Middlesbrough
Veritas Education are now seeking dedicated, compassionate and caring Autism Support Assistants to work across SEN provisions and mainstream schools across the Middlesbrough area.
Roles available will be full-time (as well as part-time in some instances) on a long-term temporary basis.
Requirements:
* Previous school-based experience (or relevant experience supporting young people)
* Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
* DBS on the update service (child and adult workforce)
Nature of role:
* Provide one-on-one or small group support
* Assist students in accessing and participating in both group and individual learning activities
* Encourage and support students in developing self-help, social, and daily living skills, promoting independence and confidence.
* Support teachers in managing classroom behaviour and following behavioural support plans.
* Work closely with SEN Coordinators and other professionals such as speech and language therapists to develop and implement strategies.
