37 hours per week The Highway Maintenance Team within the Communities Directorate are seeking a Highway Inspector with knowledge of and experience of inspecting, surveying, identifying solutions and supervising works to maintain the highway network within the Bridgend County Borough. The role will require an understanding of the maintenance practices available to maintain carriageways, footways and associated street furniture, and will include: - Undertaking Condition and Safety Inspections of the Highway Network to ensure its structural integrity and safety of the public - Keeping records of the inspections undertaken, and recording the details to computerised records/databases - Identify, monitor and supervise repairs to Highway Asset - Participation in the Authorities out of hours Call-out and Standby systems to deal with any incidents that occur on/or near to the highway or highway controlled land The applicant must have experience in undertaking the specific duties identified in this pack. Must be able to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues, external companies and members of the public.
