JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Corporate Assurance Assessor (CL2)
REPORTS TO: Corporate Assurance Manager
ERM Certification and Verification Services (ERM CVS), a rapidly growing global Business Unit within ERM Group, is seeking a motivated Assurance Assessor to lead assurance engagements with multinational clients across various sectors. As regulation and the business community emphasize the importance of climate and broader sustainability strategies, the need for third-party assured disclosures has increased.
We are looking to add an enthusiastic Assurance Assessor to our EMEA/NA based Corporate Assurance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing third-party assurance of GHG/ESG information across diverse sectors.
Applicants should have at least a degree in a sustainability or audit-related field, with 2-4 years of experience or understanding of assurance principles, GHG/ESG data, and climate change and sustainability reporting. Strong data analytics skills, preferably in Excel, are also required.
MAIN AREAS OF INVOLVEMENT:
* Support Project Managers in delivering third-party assurance of GHG/ESG information engagements.
* Perform assurance procedures such as media research, data analysis, evidence collection, site visits, and disclosure review under guidance.
* Maintain documentation and project files according to assurance standards and quality requirements.
* Assist senior colleagues during client visits and occasionally lead assurance activities under supervision.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate should have proven data analysis skills (Excel), strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects. Additional qualities include:
* Ability to support and manage multiple projects, supporting junior staff as needed.
* Willingness to learn quickly and contribute to business growth and staff development.
* Team-oriented with high self-motivation.
* Interest in sustainability and understanding of related issues like governance, environment, health and safety, human rights, and supply chain management.
* Willingness to travel, sometimes on short notice, mainly from January to May.
* Knowledge of sustainability reporting standards (ESRS, GRI, GHG Protocol, TCFD).
* Knowledge or experience with assurance standards (ISAE3000, ISAE3410, ISO14064:3, PCAOB).
* Technical understanding of environmental impacts, emissions, and climate change.
* Experience in client-facing roles with relationship management skills.
