I am looking for a Biochemical Engineer to join my client, a Bristol-based biotech developing next-gen IVDs for bloodstream infections.
As a Biochemical Engineer, you will develop and automate biochemical processes within self-contained instruments. You will design, validate, and verify systems from both biological and engineering perspectives, collaborating with engineers to create automated fluid-handling platforms. You will also deploy and support specialized instrumentation at partner sites, including training and troubleshooting.
In this role, you’ll act as a key interface between Science and Engineering teams, ensuring effective communication and project delivery. You will manage your own R&D projects from concept to completion and contribute to maintaining ISO13485-compliant quality systems across the company.
We’re looking for a creative, detail-oriented Biomedical Engineer with a strong background in both science and engineering. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering (or equivalent) and at least 3 years of hands-on experience in a biological lab. Expertise in molecular or microbiological techniques and the ability to manage complex projects is essential. Experience with CAD design, prototyping, and quality management systems (QMS) is a plus, along with familiarity with specialized lab equipment like microscopes, fluidic systems, and PCR instruments.
It is a permanent, full-time position based on-site in Bristol, UK.
