The Role
We are recruiting inspirational and creative Teaching Assistants to join this exciting school as part of our journey to become a centre of excellence. Reporting to the Class Teacher and the Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will support and deliver teaching and learning, model best practice, and enable successful learning and achievement and sustained improvement in learners’ wellbeing and preparation for adult life.
Some young people may display challenging behaviour. The role can involve physical activity and requires someone who is physically fit. MacIntyre Academies will, where possible, make reasonable adjustments to comply with the Equality Act 2010.
Previous experience is not required to apply; however, you must be an effective, confident communicator and able to keep accurate records of learning outcomes with excellent attention to detail. You will demonstrate facilitation and reflective practice within the role.
About You
We are looking for highly motivated, active staff members who enjoy working with children and young people with autism and learning difficulties. Previous experience is not essential, though understanding of Autism, SEMH and Learning Disabilities is desirable. It is paramount that you are an effective, confident communicator. Experience is not essential as you will receive ongoing support and training with a full induction. What matters most is the right outlook, ability to build relationships with learners, and alignment with our values. “MacIntyre hire for attitude and train for skill.”
You will be able to keep accurate records such as daily notes, mediation administration and learning outcomes with excellent attention to detail. You will demonstrate facilitation and reflective practice with a belief in independence and choice for the young people you support. Some learners may be very active or vulnerable if left unsupervised; therefore, a level of physical fitness is required. MacIntyre Academies will, where possible, make reasonable adjustments to comply with the Equality Act 2010.
