Our client, an established civil engineering contractor based in Gloucester, is seeking an Operations Manager to join their business. This multi-accredited organisation has a strong pipeline of work across the water and environmental sectors, delivering contracts up to £3m for high-profile water providers and environmental public bodies, and theirmitment to delivering an exceptional standard of work has positioned them as a leader within the civil engineering industry. Due to continued success, they are looking to expand their senior leadership team.
This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Gloucester office, overseeing the successful delivery of their environmental projects, with occasional site visits across the Midlands and South East regions.
Your new role
As Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include:
1. Managing and optimising all operational aspects of projects including resource allocation, scheduling, budgeting and quality control
2. Coordinating with project managers, engineers, contractors and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution
3. Developing and implementing operational policies, procedures and best practices to enhance productivity and safety
4. Monitoring project progress, identifying bottlenecks and providing solutions to mitigate risks
5. Ensuringpliance with relevant regulatory requirements, environmental policies and health and safety standards
6. Collaborating with senior management on strategic planning, financial forecasting and performance reporting
7. Overseeing procurement activities and managing vendor relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness
8. Managing budgets, tracking expenses and reporting on operational performance metrics.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you must have:
9. Proven successful experience in operational management within the civil engineering industry, ideally within the environmental sector
10. Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, project management methodologies and regulatory frameworks
11. Excellent leadership and time management skills
12. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure
13. Full UK driving licence.
