Position Overview:
The Senior Engineer plays a vital role in supporting TJC's live and recorded broadcast operations. This position ensures all technical systems related to content creation, production, and transmission perform reliably and efficiently. Working closely with engineering teams, production staff, and third-party vendors, the engineer ensures minimal downtime, rapid fault resolution, and a high level of service availability, contributing directly to the success of TJC's daily output.
Key Responsibilities
• Integrate, maintain, and support broadcast production systems and workflows.
• Diagnose and resolve faults; conduct root cause analysis for system issues.
• Provide technical advice and support to internal teams and external vendors.
• Assist with software updates, infrastructure upgrades, and platform improvements.
• Represent Engineering Operations in incident meetings and project reviews.
• Accurately document issues, solutions, system changes, and maintenance work.
• Ensure safe and complete handover of live systems post-maintenance or upgrades.
• Follow change control and incident management procedures.
Skills & Experience Required
• Experience in a broadcast, IT, or media production environment.
• Strong technical understanding of video/audio systems, IT networks, and broadcast workflows.
• Calm and effective under pressure; confident in making time-critical decisions.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Relevant technical qualifications (e.g. Electronics, Media Technology, Computer Science).
• Knowledge of safety practices and standards, including electrical safety; ITIL knowledge desirable.
