We are looking for an enthusiastic midwife with a passion and experience within the triage setting as Lead Midwife for Triage (Band 7).
The successful applicant will support and develop changes within the Triage setting, particularly the oversight of BSOTS and triage. The role will support the development of leadership skills and be responsible for delivering a safe, efficient, high-quality, woman-focused service that meets individual needs.
This is a full-time post across multiple sites, but we will consider job sharing (18.75 hours per week for Ipswich Hospital and 18.75 hours per week for Colchester Hospital).
You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of Maternity Triage.
You will have ongoing responsibility for the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of care programs, ensuring safety standards are maintained and the ward operates smoothly within the allocated resources.
The role includes liaising with other agencies, managing, teaching, supporting, and empowering junior and newly qualified midwives and healthcare assistants.
You will also take 'Bleep Holding' responsibility on a rotational basis with colleagues, ensuring safe staffing and standards of care, including acting as Delivery Suite Coordinator if required.
