Job Description
The HVAC Commercial and Industrial Assistant Project Manager will assist with planning, organizing, and directing Mechanical Services (HVAC/R, Plumbing, Electrical) field activities. This role is responsible for achieving overall corporate objectives at the department level. The assistant will help with scheduling, coordinating, and supervising craft and service employee activities. They will liaise with customer contacts and subcontractors regarding project details, scope, and specifications. Additionally, assistance with or completion of Mechanical Services estimates is expected.
Essential Job Functions
* Assist with planning, organizing, and staffing suggestions.
* Assist with planning and supervising work activities, determining methods of construction, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary power sources, work schedules, and documenting actual hours worked.
* Assist with overseeing foremen, purchasing, and stock functions.
* Monitor overall work quantity performed by staff and collaborate with Project Manager and Company President to develop standards and procedures.
* Maintain liaison and support with other departments, divisions, and units as required.
* Monitor compliance with safety programs, document, and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
* Mentor Project Development Coordinators, Project Managers, and foremen.
Qualifications
* Must possess a current valid PA driver's license.
* Equivalent combinations of technical training, related experience, vo-tech training, college degree, or equivalent experience.
* Minimum 5 years of construction experience, in foremanship or a leadership role.
* Working knowledge of various construction disciplines, cost control, scheduling, safety regulations, and ability to read drawings.
* Must have working knowledge of electrical codes and review updates every 3 years.
* EPA Universal Certification required.
* Master Plumber's License preferred.
* Ability to supervise and evaluate craft performance.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
