Hours: 8:30am – 3:45pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist education setting in Maidenhead, supporting children and young people with autism, communication differences, sensory needs and physical needs. The setting offers a nurturing, highly structured, and therapy-focused environment—providing pupils with personalised support to help them develop key life skills, emotional regulation, communication and independence.

About the Role
As a Support Worker, you will work within a small class team, supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis. You will be helping children access learning, social activities and sensory experiences, while promoting communication and independence.
Your daily role will include:
5. Supporting pupils with communication and engagement throughout the school day
6. Assisting with personal care, feeding and mobility needs (training provided)
7. Supporting children with sensory and emotional regulation
8. Helping to deliver structured lessons and activity-based learning
9. Encouraging progress through positive behaviour strategies
10. Working closely with the teacher and therapy teams to implement individual learning plans
11. Helping create a safe, calm and encouraging environment
We’d Love to Hear From You If You Have:
12. Experience in care, early years, or supporting individuals with SEND (voluntary or paid)
13. Confidence or willingness to assist with personal care
14. Patience, empathy and dedication to helping children thrive
15. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
16. A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Experience with autism, learning disabilities, non-verbal communication, or behaviour support is advantageous — but not essential, as full training is provided.
