What is an alarm receiving centre and remote monitoring station?
An alarm receiving centre and remote monitoring station is a building where security operators receive data, signals and alarms from security systems all over the UK.
Security operators at the station can view CCTV footage, issue audio warnings to sites and remotely manage building facilities (for example, opening gates to verified visitors via access control.)

Job Description
Reporting to the IT Systems Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to, and delivering, the IT strategy including the tackling of key strategic initiatives related to Business Transformation, Service Delivery & Infrastructure, Information Security, Architecture, Business Continuity and Programme Management. OOH on-call work will be required.
Job Scope
· Manage technologies and provide administrative assistance for various systems.
· IT troubleshooting and provision of technical support.
· Control and monitor data, network access, and back-up systems.
· Negotiate / communicate with third-party software providers for new software and troubleshooting. Be passionate about IT and its potential to support a business; displaying curiosity for emergent technologies and how these could be implemented in the business.
· Strong influencing, problem resolution, and communication skills.
· Be confident enough to ask for clarification where there is uncertainty.
· Be resilient and take on responsibility while demonstrating integrity and honesty in performing the job role.
· Have good literacy skills and be able to record information accurately on all relevant documentation as business, user, and client needs dictate.
· Be able to work as part of a team or on your own initiative.
Knowledge requirements: qualifications & prior experience
· SQL Server experience preferred.
· Computer literate for Microsoft Server, Office 365, VMWare, Firewalls, Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Database
· Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant field.

· Networking Knowledge, TCP-IP, VLANs, NAT policies etc. Purpose of position
* To be responsible for the Company’s IT systems, its infrastructure, processes, hardware & software
* To take control of all IT projects in line with the business's needs
* To ensure that the Company is fully protected & resilient against any internal or external threats or risks to its technology systems and software.
* To recommend changes and improvements to the IT system. Making use of the latest technology and best practices.
Principal Duties
To update Active Directory, create and delete users
To administer telephone system
To administer operating system updates
To administer backup systems, for file storage, databases, and operating system images
To ensure that all necessary, quality, and statutory standards are maintained and achieved
To manage relationships with supplies, support and approved providers of goods
To maintain a good level of cleanliness in all appropriate areas
To maintain an assist record with appropriate stickers
To Keep up-to-date floor plans and network schematics
To Keep a track record of any changes made in a change request system
To roll out and maintain mobile security
To administrate O365
To manage business-critical systems to ensure maximum business uptime
To manage print systems and contracts
To take out-of-hours support calls as and when is required
To liaise with other departments and suggest operational improvements
To monitor the health reports and take action
To carry out any other reasonable work-related tasks at the request of a line manager, and to carry out duties as the Company may reasonably require.
