Key Responsibilities
* Assessment & Planning
o Assess patients' functional abilities, needs, and goals using standardised and non-standardised tools.
o Develop personalised treatment and rehabilitation programmes to support independence in daily living, work, or education.
o Advise on adaptations, equipment, or assistive technology to enhance participation and safety.
* Intervention & Support
o Deliver therapy sessions to improve mobility, self-care, cognition, and psychosocial functioning.
o Provide guidance on fatigue management, pain management, and coping strategies.
o Support clients and families in developing skills and confidence for daily activities.
* Collaboration & Advocacy
o Work as part of a multidisciplinary team with physiotherapists, speech therapists, doctors, nurses, social workers, and educators.
o Liaise with carers, employers, and community agencies to ensure holistic care and support.
o Advocate for clients' needs in relation to health, education, and social services.
* Record Keeping & Reporting
o Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and progress.
o Produce professional reports and contribute to care plans, risk assessments, and discharge planning.
* Professional Standards & Development
o Adhere to HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) standards and occupational therapy best practice.
o Engage in regular supervision, reflective practice, and continuing professional development (CPD).
o Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and student mentoring where appropriate.
Essential Requirements
* Degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent qualification).
* HCPC registration.
* Knowledge of occupational therapy models and approaches (e.g., MOHO, COPM, biomechanical, cognitive-behavioural).
* Strong problem-solving, planning, and communication skills.
* Ability to manage a varied caseload across different settings.
Desirable Requirements
* Experience in [specific area - e.g., paediatrics, mental health, physical rehabilitation, neurology, community care].
* Training in specialist interventions (e.g., sensory integration, hand therapy, vocational rehabilitation).
* Knowledge of assistive technology and environmental adaptations.
