Job Title: Engineering Leader
Location: Port Sunlight Factories (PC Factory) Site Based
Work-Level: 1S
JOB PURPOSE
The Engineering Leader is responsible for providing engineering support to meet performance levels through sustainable improvements in standards and equipment reliability. They develop and improve maintenance systems and procedures, working closely with their team to apply UMS and CI tools, focusing on coaching and maintaining improvements through training and procedural updates.
RESPONSIBILITIES
People responsibilities:
* Manage the engineering team, ensuring they are equipped, supported, and motivated to achieve business objectives.
* Lead and coach the team on processes, training, and feedback (PDPs & 121s).
* Coordinate with other departments and manage interfaces, ensuring accountability.
* Drive escalations and prioritize work.
Areas of Accountability:
Safety
* Promote a safe working environment, ensure incident reporting and analysis, and participate in investigations.
* Monitor compliance with safety rules and engage with OSHE advisors for risk assessments.
Quality
* Understand quality procedures related to equipment performance and review losses with the Quality Leader.
Cost
* Manage the Repairs and Maintenance budget, liaise with budget holders, and facilitate resource assessments.
Other areas include 5S, Autonomous Maintenance, Effective Maintenance, Focused Improvement, and Early Management, each with specific responsibilities to support operational excellence.
ALL ABOUT YOU
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
* NVQ/QCF 4 or equivalent in Engineering, with dual skills (Mechanical/Electrical) preferred.
* Leadership experience and strong IT skills, especially in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, and SAP.
