Lead General Practitioner – HMP Leeds
Practice Plus Group is hiring a Lead General Practitioner to oversee the delivery of a high quality GP service at HMP Leeds, a category B men’s prison housing males aged 21+. You will clinically supervise 4 GPs, 2 ANPs, 1 trainee ANP and 1 trainee MNP, and assist with training, rotas, clinical sessions, and lead MPCCC and safer prescribing meetings.
Hours
This is a full‑time role (40 hours per week) including morning, afternoon and evening sessions Monday to Friday.
Pay
Annual salary up to £129,500 per annum, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
* Provide medical leadership and expert advice on medical and primary care issues
* Identify and utilise evidence‑based best practice through benchmarking and clinical guidelines
* Chair the MPCCC & safer prescribing meetings and support 72‑hour review meetings
* Ensure systems and processes are in place for managing results, letters, tasks
* Be a core member of local QA and MM meetings
* Review RCA findings and engage with action planning, ensuring lessons learned are embedded
* Support the development of Local Operating Policies
* Support the Head of Healthcare at Local Delivery Board meetings
* Attend Clinical Forums
* Review CVs for potential new GPs and locum/agency GPs and support the recruitment of new GPs into the service
* Oversee the induction of new GPs into the local site
* Support other GPs in the service with peer review & clinical supervision
* Support the Head of Healthcare with discussions about poor performance and, if necessary, elevate to the regional cluster lead

Qualifications required
* MBChB or MBBS, GMC registered, inclusion on the GP Performers List
* RCGP 1 and 2 substance misuse qualifications or willingness to undertake the qualifications
* Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse; interest in long‑term conditions
* Evidence of continuing professional development and knowledge of clinical quality assurance
* Ability to develop evidence‑based best practice
