Job Description – Occupational Therapy Assistant
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant to support the delivery of high-quality therapeutic services to individuals with diverse needs. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist, assisting in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of therapy programmes that promote independence, wellbeing, and recovery.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist Occupational Therapists in delivering individual and group therapy sessions.
* Support service users in developing daily living skills, social skills, and coping strategies.
* Encourage engagement in meaningful activities that promote independence, confidence, and wellbeing.
* Prepare, adapt, and maintain therapeutic equipment and resources.
* Observe, record, and report service users' progress, behaviours, and responses to therapy.
* Support care planning and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions.
* Promote a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused environment in line with professional and organisational standards.
* Encourage service users' participation in community integration and rehabilitation programmes.
* Undertake administrative tasks such as maintaining accurate records and updating care plans.

Qualifications & Experience
* Previous experience in a healthcare, mental health, or social care setting (desirable but not always essential).
* NVQ/QCF Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent (advantageous).
* Willingness to undertake training relevant to the role.
