Job Description: Job Title Legal Counsel Location London Corporate Title Vice President The Litigation and Regulatory Enforcement (LRE) team is responsible for managing the Bank's contentious legal matters. As a member of this team, you will serve as a key-contributor overseeing and providing legal advice on litigation disputes, regulatory enforcement investigations and pre-litigation matters. This role will require interaction with multiple internal and external stakeholders, collaboration across functions, management and development of strategy on a variety of complex litigations and regulatory enforcement matters, including instructing and overseeing external counsel, briefing and advising internal senior stakeholders and advising and supporting on internal investigations. We have implemented a model that enables eligible employees to work remotely for a part of their working time and reach a working pattern that works for them Competitive salary and non-contributory pension 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase additional days Life Assurance and Private Healthcare for you and your family A range of flexible benefits including Retail Discounts, a Bike4Work scheme and Gym benefits The opportunity to support a wide ranging CSR programme 2 days’ volunteering leave per year Your key responsibilities Directing the conduct of civil litigation and regulatory enforcement matters Instructing and supervising outside counsel, serving as a primary interface between outside counsel and the business, overseeing the locating and collection of relevant documentary evidence and conducting interviews Reporting to and advising senior management Working with other members of the Litigation and Regulatory Enforcement team globally, e.g. on cross border matters. Coordinating with other functions including Comms, AFC and Regulatory Management Advising other functions on contentious issues including the internal investigations function, transactional legal teams and AFC.
