The ideal candidate will be a commercially minded, Finance and Operations Director, looking for a part time or fractional role in an exciting, growing international service business.
Leading a small team the role is central to strengthening the financial health, operational excellence, and long-term growth of the business.
The person will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of finance and operations, ensuring the company continues to grow effectively, profitably, and in line with ambition. It's a hands-on role, suited to someone who can combine strategic vision with incredible operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership
* Lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to support growth.
* Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk across an international landscape.
* Implement robust financial controls, systems, and processes.
* Support with the development of business modelling in support of profitable growth in a growing SME.
* Oversee relationships with banks, auditors, accountants, and advisors.
* Provide clear and actionable financial insights to the CEO and board, supported by appropriate MI and reporting.
Operational Leadership
* Drive operational efficiency.
* Develop and implement systems, processes, and OKR/KPIs to improve reporting, operational productivity and service delivery.
* Oversee contracts, supplier relationships, and commercial negotiations.
* Oversee Finance, HR, operations and administration.
* Support the CEO and Board in strategy development, commercial planning and business modelling.
Governance & Compliance
* Ensure compliance with UK and international regulatory, tax, and legal obligations.
* Lead on risk management, policies, and corporate governance.
* Champion a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
Profile
* Chartered or Management Accountant, with proven experience in a senior finance and operations leadership role.
* Background in professional services, consulting, and international businesses desirable.
* Strong financial acumen with hands-on experience in SMEs.
* Demonstrated ability to improve processes, scale operations, and drive profitability.
* Commercially astute, with excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
* Comfortable working in a growing business with both strategic and operational responsibilities.
