Overview
Working within a multi-disciplinary team, this post involves the provision of a range of advanced diagnostic and rehabilitative Audiology services for adults of all ages, including patients with special needs. The post holder will be working at a senior level within the Management team and contributing to the delivery of a consistently high quality, complex and sophisticated service.
Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of adult patients including both aural rehabilitation and diagnostic audiometric testing according to national, professional and local protocols.
* Demonstrate highly developed specialist knowledge underpinned by theoretical and relevant significant practical experience.
* Work with ENT to improve communication and working relationships. Develop an Audiology‑led MRI referral service.
* Work as a member of the senior management team and lead areas of adult audiology in collaboration and in agreement with the Audiology head of service.
* Represent the service at meetings and regional audiology group meetings.
* Contribute, propose changes and implement developments to the service, including revision of protocols and pathways.
* Play a key role in the service’s development in a high standard quality management system and in the attainment and maintenance of IQUIPs accreditation.
* Line‑manage an agreed team of clinical staff, including responsibility for supervision, motivation and continued development of skills within the team, conduct appraisals and manage attendance and sickness within trust protocols.
