Responsibilities

As a Support Worker (Promoting Independence Assistant) in reablement, you’ll help our customers regain and promote their independence and continue living in their own homes, following hospital discharge or crisis intervention. This includes helping clients relearn skills in life activities, such as personal care (washing, personal hygiene, dressing), mobility support, and meal preparation. You will provide support in a way that helps people to do things for themselves rather than doing things for them. Initially hands-on assistance may be required, but Promoting Independence Assistants will enable and encourage service users to do as much as possible themselves.

What we can offer you

* £250 welcome payment (subject to tax & NI).
* 26 days annual leave (pro rata for part-time staff) – can match up to 31 days for additional entitlement.
* Local Government Pension scheme.
* Paid travel time and mileage from 36p per mile.
* Uniform and IT equipment supplied.
* Greener Car Scheme & Bike Scheme.
* Excellent training and development opportunities.
* Staff Benefit Scheme supporting Health and Wellbeing.
* Flexibility with a variety of day, evening and weekend shifts available.

Requirements & About You

We are looking for people who can demonstrate a can-do attitude, are proactive, compassionate, and empathetic, with a commitment to developing the lives of people and providing care and support. You should have good communication and organisational skills, and an understanding of health, safety and wellbeing of service users in their own homes. Travel within Worcestershire is required, so a full driving licence and own vehicle is essential.

Additional Information

The service runs from 7am to 10pm with various shift patterns. This post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; appointment is conditional upon a satisfactory DBS disclosure. We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
