Payroll Manager | Palletways UK

About the Role
Palletways UK is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to take full ownership of our payroll function. Based at our Fradley hub, you will oversee the end to end processing for over 700 employees across both weekly and monthly cycles.
This is a pivotal role focused on more than just administration. We are looking for a leader who can challenge existing practices, streamline our current systems, and act as the primary point of contact for our external provider, ADP. You will be supported in this role by a dedicated Payroll and HR Administrator.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and verify the accuracy of weekly and monthly payrolls for 700+ staff members.
* Act as the lead relationship manager between Palletways and our payroll provider, ADP.
* Conduct a full review of current payroll systems to identify and implement process improvements.
* Ensure total compliance with all payroll regulations and HMRC legislation.
* Bridge the gap between line managers and the finance department to ensure data accuracy and timely reporting.
* Propose and execute updates to payroll processing workflows to increase efficiency.
* Provide guidance and support to the Payroll and HR Administrator.
What We Are Looking For
* Experience: Extensive experience at a Payroll Manager level or a senior professional ready to take the next step in their career.
* Technical Skills: A strong working knowledge of ADP systems is a distinct advantage.
* Qualifications: Preferably qualified in payroll practices (CIPP or equivalent).
* Mindset: An analytical thinker who is comfortable questioning current practices and proposing workable, legal solutions.
* Communication: Ability to develop strong working relationships across finance and operations.
* Location: Ideally based in Lichfield or the surrounding areas for easy access to the Fradley site.
