Mechanical Project Manager Location: South Yorkshire (Office & Site Based) Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 Car/Allowance Benefits Start: ASAP Role Summary A Mechanical Project Manager is required to join a well-established building services contractor delivering HVAC and mechanical projects across commercial and public sector environments. This is a hands-on role within a close-knit business, suited to someone who can take full ownership of projects from pre-construction through to completion, while supporting across estimating, design, and delivery. Company Overview This business specialises in commercial mechanical services, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and plantroom installations across sectors such as NHS, education, and local authority projects. Operating as an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), the company offers a collaborative environment where employees have a direct stake in the success of the business. Projects typically range from £10k-£300k, with larger schemes up to £1m. Key Responsibilities Manage mechanical projects from order through to completion Support tendering and estimating of HVAC/mechanical works Coordinate with clients, consultants, and subcontractors Oversee site delivery, programme, and cost control Assist with or review mechanical design where required Manage multiple projects across various sectors simultaneously Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to spec Requirements Minimum 5-6 years' experience in mechanical/building services Strong background in HVAC and mechanical installations Experience managing projects across commercial or public sector works Comfortable working in a hands-on, multi-functional role Strong organisational and communication skills Qualifications HNC Level 4 in Building Services (or equivalent preferred) Skills & Attributes Client-facing and commercially aware Able to manage multiple projects concurrently Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC, plantrooms, heating/domestic services) Proactive and adaptable within a small business environment Package & Benefits £45,000 - £65,000 salary (DOE) Company car or car allowance Employee Ownership Trust benefits Long-term opportunity within a growing business Close-knit, supportive team environment Location & Travel Split between office and site (approx. 60/40) Projects across regional commercial and public sector sites
