Our clients based close to Fareham have an exciting opportunity for a Production Team Leader to join their growing team.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Delivery On-Time:
Ensure jobs assigned to your team are completed on time.
Be the first point of contact for any faulty parts or units, and, for those that cannot be resolved, work closely with RMA to ensure a quick turnaround of faulty components.
Communicate with Purchasing and other departments as needed.
Ensure all build issues are recorded on the SOP Problem Log and update the instructions with fixes and rollout training to avoid a repeat
Monitor the skills matrix and proactively arrange training to ensure sufficient trained staff are available to meet current and future skills demand.
Productivity:
Assist technicians with any build issues ensure that the technicians' times are spent productively.
Ensure production hours are logged against the relevant jobs, and they are at or below the allocated build hours for the job
Check build times are correct on the ERP and report any issues to the Production Scheduler/Production Manager.
Ensure all technicians are trained, or in training, for the builds they are on.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive a culture of continuous improvement to achieve 1% reduction in build hours.
Lead by example in the promotion of 7s. and ensure all technicians understand it and how they can influence it.
Encourage new Kaizen ideas from technicians and ensure new ideas are implemented and communicated.
Ensure all technicians have an understanding of 7S and their influence on it.
Participate and encourage participation in Company People Initiatives.
Quality:
To work closely with the Quality Department to ensure all work is to the highest quality standards.
Remove any barriers preventing 100% concentration on maintaining quality builds. Escalate to Operations Manager where required.
Recognise and implement any training requirements.
Work with quality team on root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
Required skills & experience:
Able to build and manufacture computers
Experience working within a manufacturing environment
Experience leading a team
Working hours:
37.5 hours per week. 08:00-16:00, MondayFriday.
